Dec 2. I have been reading the notes in the paper about President Bush asking for more millions to support the war in Iraq.... I am ready to be done with this war. I am ready to put money into positive energy enterprises. I am ready for the killing to stop, and for true skilled negotiation to begin. We need a statesman at the helm, not a cowboy. (and a dumb cowboy at that) I am ready for our troops to come home. A 20 year old boy from the town next over from me was killed last week. He has a young wife too, and it's a terrible loss for our community. I am tired of keeping the machine of war running when we don't have enough money in our schools to buy textbooks. I am tired of fueling the machine of war when we need to make cars more fuel efficient, preserving our natural resources, and cutting our dependence on fossil fuels. We just sucked it up and bought a new car, and decided to shell out for a Prius hybrid. Why can't the car manufacturers make more cars like this? Because Americans can't stop their own addiction to big fast cars that suck down fossil fuels. It's embarrassing that the technology to make these cars is available, and that we continue to create and sell cars that do nothing towards preserving our environment and our natural resources.

Maybe I'm just in a mood today...but that's where I'm at. where are you at? ANy solutions you can see to these and other problems?
